    Guys,

I'm new to this forum. Lemme start by saying you forum members are GREAT. I learnt a lot from this.

I recently decided to buy a laptop and did some research. Looks like I have gotten addicted to IBM laotops for whatever reason. I don't want to spend more than $1500 ( tax included !)with a docking station as I need to use it as a desktop too. I have a viewsonic 19 inch widescreen which is great, a printer/seagate USB hard disk etc etc. So docking station is a must. I will use this for personal use and work from home occassionally. I need a durable, very good quality laptop.

My instinct says ' get an IBM'. They are sooo expensive. So I had to find some way to get this to fit my budget but just can't compromise on the features ( core Duo, 14.1 Wide, BT, Wireless, 512 1 DIMM, 80 Gb, card reader etc). So I went to an IBM on-site guy in my company to get his serial number for EPP diso****. I will ship it to my friend in deleware to save tax !!!

Now my question is, I think I saw z61 core duo, 14.1, DVD RW,80 gB, 512 MB without BT for around 1300 for EPP price ( Ofcourse it's not there now, I know it will come back). Do you guys think this is worth. BT is a must. So can I upgrade to BT some how using daughter card or soemthing ??

if you can wait a month or two. I'd hold out for the new intel mobile processor and get a T or X series, those are worth every penny.

    santasballz,
You saved my day. I almost bought dell latitude 620 with dual core 2 GB, 80GB 7200 rpm HD, docking, etc etc but dropped it after hearing heating/fan issues. I had a dell 11 inspiron brick. It bugged me sooo much. The fan, the heat, keyboard keys comming off, slow !!!!!!!
I couldn't take it and I donated it to someone !!!. I'm someone who just can't keep up with a low quality electronic gadget. I don't mind donating it if the quality sucks.

So I NEED Z61 unless anyone thinks otherwise.
