    To anybody,

I have a Z61T that I am trying to finish a clean WinXP SP3 install. I am having difficulty regarding the last 2 devices that won't ID.

    SM Bus controller
    Unknown device

Does anyone have any ideas on how to clear these up? Thanks in advance for all assistance!

    To all,

Don't bother if anyone even cared. The Superguide is wrong regarding the driver install. In order to properly install the drivers for all the chipset devices you must go directly to the Intel support site and d/l the driver install package from there. The IBM site's XP chipset drivers for the Z61t are broken.

Did you get this fixed? I am having the same issue..I was able to get the unknown device fixed..but I can't get the SM Bus Controller to work...When I installed, I used the Intel Chipset Identifier and loaded the proper drivers it told me too..but I Am lost on the SM Bus Controller...

I'm guessing you can install the driver extracting the chipset drivers files from the .exe file although I don't know how to do that, then point the location of the individual files and update driver.
