    Hi everyone!

I'm a college student, and I just bought a z61t from Lenovo. Yeah, I've already coughed up the dough, it's already shipped, and it's in the UPS tracking system, but I was wondering if you could comment on whether or not this is a good laptop for a student. I hope it can last me at least 4 years.

All comments on pricing / specs and suggestions for upgrades (maybe even a return, if necessary?) would be very appreciated. :)

Also, there's lots of snow on campus, the temperatures are pretty cold, etc. Will that be a factor in the reliability of my Z61t?

    Thanks!

I think you have a very nice machine there, and it will last you well into your college career. As for the heat issue, being somewhere cold does help in the fact that things won't become overheated, but probably something that won't be too much of a factor. I would worry more about dropping something on it or spilling your...er umm...coke...on the keyboard. Nice buy.

ThinkPads are the best built notebooks. I don't see any issues. I think the price you paid is very good. I am assuming you have some EPP connections.

I don't know, but it's said the T60 is a better build. But it lacks the ports, although you can get a docking station if willing to put out another $79.

I am amazed it got shipped so fast.
