I just ordered a z61t from the Lenovo site #94402cu. If the model number is the same is the configuration exactly the same. the configuration is not very detailed on the buy.com site but the numbers match. i could save about 138 bucks enugh for a two year extended warranty. Do i need that? Never had an Ibm before. Also do I give anything up by ordering from a reseller? returns?

Buying directly from Lenovo is usually more expensive then buying from a reseller. The return policy is the only thing that will differ between Lenovo and resellers. Lenovo has 30 days money back, resellers usually have a "no return" policy. Warranty will be the same everywhere. The configuration will be same everywhere if they have the same model number.

I've always ordered direct like from dell. What do most do with the ibm "s? Is the buy.com warranty as good as the lenovo? I didnt order extended warranty or accidental damage this time because nothing has ever happened. knock on wood lol . i could get two year on site for tehsame price as one year depot at buy.com. what do you guys think?

The machine will be warranted by Lenovo no matter where you buy it.

Euclid Computers seems to have a better selection then buy.com. They list the specs and the prices. Alot of the models have a 3 yr warranty.

    search for z61m or z61t
