    Hi again,

as I continue reading reviews, I came across some forums, where people complain about the display quality of the z61m.

    Complain quotes:

    The display is too dark.
    Uneven light distribution.
Vertical and horizontal viewinig angels are very small.
Too slow, even for watching DVDs.
Signal at VGA-out is really bad, even for 1024x768 TFTs.

What do you think about your display? Is something of this true?

I just noticed this thread after posting a question related to thinkpad displays, specifically the IPS technology. I actually returned my z61m because I thought the color reproduction was quite bad; I'm probably much more picky about displays than most however......otherwise, the machine is built like a tank, and runs extremely well.

I don't know what those people were smoking when they said those things, but if the Z61m screen is anything like my Z60m screen, they're all wrong. This screen is beautiful.

I have only owned Dell inspirons before my Z61m. I have the wsxga+ screen and I'm very happy with it. Very little leakage on the bottom, great resolution and all images displayed have been pleasing to my eye.

I run MRI imaging software on mine, watch video lectures and dvd's. All is well with my screen.

I also have the WSXGA+ screen on my z61m. I find it bright enough when plugged in, but for some reason the max brightness setting is darker when on battery and I don't think it's bright enough.

Haven't really played with viewing angles, but the colour reproduction looks fine to me. Also, I don't find it too slow, I can watch movies just fine. Haven't used the VGA out so I can't offer insight there.
