The screen will switch off by itself while I'm in the middle of something and running on battery. I have to push the power button, put it on standby and then wake it up again to get my screen back. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? This happened to me twice during the last hour. Thanks!

P.S. I noticed the screen will flicker from time to time while there is heavy HDD activity. Something is shot?

download TPfancontrol and run the application, see what temperature your CPU and GPU gets to, and then report back.

the temp looks normal. Have you tried to run the a hdd diagnostic from the bios menu?

Also, what is the GPU that you are using?
