Although the webcam works perfectly in Vista the small LED to indicate the Webcam is on does not appear to work.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there a fix? I am a little concerned I cannot tell if the cam is on or not  .

    Thanks in advance...

Try installing this tool and see if the light comes on. This tool allows you to capture images from your webcam and save it to the disk. http://dorgem.sourceforge.net/

Make sure you have the latest driver from Lenovo (and not the one that Vista insists on installing from the Microsoft Update website). On my Z61m, the driver is by Sonix and the date is 12/1/2006 and version is 5.7.13.1. Subsequent to this, Windows Update says there is a new one called Envision V-CAM. If you have that installed, then you will need to rollback the driver from the Device Manager.

    Hope this helps...
