    Z61t lid close standby problem

    For some reason when I close the lid of my new Z61t, instead of going into standby like it's supposed to, it instead turns off the screen and all LEDs except for the battery and the little circle with the z in it. I have installed all updates through ThinkVantage, which included the newest bios update. I noticed on the Lenovo site that something had changed in the new bios with regards to standby behavior. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, what did you do to fix it?

    Is it set to standby when lid is closed? I set mine to do nothing, so check your Power settings in Windows or whatever the THinkVantage's equivalent (should be Fn + F3 though by default) software is called. I would tell you, if my system that I just got wasn't BSODing the crap out of me.

    Yea, on the "Global Power Settings" tab the lid closed option is set to standby, so that's why I am thinking something might be wrong.

    Fixed the problem by downgrading the bios to version 2.11 (from 2.12).
