Just got my x201, very happy with it :p

I am wondering whether zeroshock III/IV is an overkill for x201...
zeroshock is good for protecting it from damage, but IV looks too thick and bulky. So I will more perfer III.

Or just a simple and light one like case logic sleeve will do the job? Since thinkpad is so durable, perhaps I just need one that is capable for preventing scar and scuff?

For me, if I had a backpack with a laptop compartment, I would get a thin neoprene ThinkPad sleeve just to prevent scar/scuff while the laptop is in the backpack.

But since I didn't have a backpack with a laptop compartment when I first got my X200, I went for the Zeroshock III instead.

The 12 inch Zeroshock IV would be a perfect fit but it cannot be found anywhere if you are outside the E.U.

I had the Zeroshock III a few years back and it was great, but would like the IV for the X201.

At the moment I am using a Targus 12 in sleeve and it is perfect in fit and feel. May be sufficient for the sturdy x201 but I`d really like to get the Zeroshock IV.

I second this option. I have a backpack and a thin thinkpad 12W sleeve.

Backpack+Zeroshock is just tooooo much! :p

I got this locally for $20 no tax on the day I got the x201 and I like it.

I wouldn`t say that a Zeroshock sleeve is an overkill when in a backpack, since most you never really know what you will be running into. I still remember my then Oakley backpack with a notebook compartment containing my then XPS m1210 in the Seroshock III took a 3 foot drop, initially, before continuing down some steps. A pen I had inside took more damage than my notebook.

Yup, unless you have a big backpack, it's so much trouble taking them out and putting back in each time :(
