    For the record, the pics on the web page are showing a 15" screen model of the T42, not a 14", as the specs specify.
    Just so you know.

    Hi i think im going to receive it tomororw.
    it doesn't come with any recovery cds etc, just a recovery partition. I was going to do a fresh install of xp pro on it after i received it. What other drivers, software, do i need to download after? i went to IBM"s website and they have a whole list of software to download.

    It's a good deal, but the specs are a little messed up. It says P-M in the listing title, then says it uses a Pentium 4-M and the no recovery CD's. The T42 uses a P-M, but this person might be confusing this with the T30 series, but it looks like it checks out. I would get it for that price.

    YEah i think he copies and pastes alot of his different listings , he sells alot of thinkpads

    If you can find out the machine type, you can look the specs up on Leveno's site. Also make sure you burn off the drivers folder if you do a fresh install.

    Thanks just got the laptop today, its very nice!

    would i be able to just do a fresh install then use the automated update installer on lenovo's website?

    scratch that,

    is there a way to delete the recovery partition without having to reformat my whole harddrive?
