Hi, as many of you know, with lenovo's anni sale, in order to get $250 back, you need to mail them the rebate form.

WITH the rebate form, you have to attach the ORGINAL barcode that came with shipping.

Now I was wondering...what happens if by some chance that mail gets lost? everything else (such as the invoice) you can reprint, but you've only got one ORIGINAL barcode....so does that mean you're bleeped?

    thanks.

Usually you have to send the bar code. This is so you can't return it. I would make copies everything i.e. the rebate form, receipt, upc, etc. before sending it off. That way you'll have copies should a problem arise. Most companies will work with you if you have copies. Also for larger rebates, I suggest sending them certified mail. It costs a few buck, but they must sign for it so they cannot claim they did not get it. A little insurance if you will.

Zaz, my box came with two large stickers containing the bar code and serial number, etc. The sticker itself is very large, maybe 5" X 4" and has Thinkpad Z60m followed by Machine type model #, Part #, serial #,etc. There are actually 6 different bar codes on the sticker(s) including a UPC bar code. Both stickers include the same information. The box is a Lenovo box and was sealed with an IBM sticker that I broke the day I received my Thinkpad. Does this sound like the correct sticker?

    Thanks!

Usually the UPC is as marked as such. Isn't usually a 10 digit code in two parts? I would ask Lenovo. Hopefully they will know. Perhaps saving the box until you receive the rebate might not be a bad idea in case you send the wrong one.

the certified mail sounds like a great idea, i didn't even know it existed!

when you say make a copy of everything, you mean even the barcode right? like photocopy it or something.

    thanks

Make a copy of evething you send to them. I personally just scan them into my computer. Then delete them after I get the check.
