hi all,
I have a lenovo thinkpad x220, and it is my first laptop, ever.
I have it with the internal 320gb 7200rpm hard drive, and when I watch videos, not streaming, that are saved in my internal hard drive and move my laptop while a video is playing (lift it up, or tilt it slightly when its on my lap), the video seems to freeze for a couple seconds and then play again. This has been pretty annoying to me, although it's not a huge problem. Is this problem unique to my x220 or does this apply to all laptops with internal hdds? Will having an internal ssd fix this?? and if so, can u recommend me some good ssds under $300?

This is the ThinkVantage Active Protection System to protect the hard drive. You can set it to be less sensitive or disable it all together.
Go to Start > All Programs > Lenovo ThinkVantage Tools > Airbag Protection > Configuration to make changes.

wow thank you so much!

I also found it a bit annoying but now understanding why it stops momentarily, I think I'll leave it as is, to protect the drive. Thanks for the info.

Might want to try a different player; it doesn't seem to do it with VLC or Splash Pro.
a question about x220's hard drive and video playing
