    Hey guys, i've decided to buy a t61p, even with the impending refresh, I wnat to have some time to get to know my thinkpad :)

    But i have a few questions. two really.

    1) Is Intel Turbo memory worth the extra 37 dollrs? I know 37 seems lik ea pittance compared to the rst of the laptop, but I'm asian :p , every penny counts

    2) How much battery life do you get with a 6 cell compared with a 9cell? Is the 9cell worth 180 dollars (this price is an estimate, i dont rmemeber it exactly but i think its close; +/- 15 dollars)???

    Thanks for your help guys!

    Intel turbo memory had poor performance on the initial reviews. Perhaps there have been driver enhancements, but I really don't think it is worthwhile. A much better investment would be more memory.

    I would predict that the 9 cells offers about 50% more battery life than the 6 cell.

    So:

    3 hours with 6 cell -> 4.5 hours with 9 cell.

    Vista just loves memory. The more you give it the more it uses and the more it caches for rapid program launches.

    I have Vista 64bit with 4GB and it just flies opening programs. When I press the "window" key on my keyboard and type in "word" and hit enter, Word launches and it waiting for me to type before I have brought my eyes to the center of the screen.
