    no you will have to remove the 120gb first but you can transfer the data if you buy an enclosure and turn the 120gb into an external

    FWIW it's possible to install the 2nd HDD in an UltraBay Slim HDD adapter so that both HDDs can be installed at the same time in the laptop w/o the need for an external enclosure.

    Yes. Only one UltraBay device can reside in the UltraBay at any given time.

    I think the enclosure costs around $40 on Lenovo's site.

    Who uses their DVD drive all the time anyway? The 2nd hard drive can be used to backup files or store your files separate from the OS hard drive.

    But, I heard that using a harddrive in the UltraBay increases heat and noise.

    Keep in mind that you can hot swap the UltraBay Slim HDD adapter with your new HD and the optical drive any time with out need to turn off the system. If this is an option for you it saves you the hassle to reintall the OS to the new HD. Additonally you can turn of the HD in the UltraBay Slim HDD adapter to save battery power is required.

    Cheers

    Isn't there an option when placing your order to add another Ultrabay slim to the machine in addition to the one that holds the optical drive?

    Humm actually i need to install SAP software which requires 250 Gb Hdd ( i already have portable 250 GB (WD 2500 XMS )HDD but installing software on it takes lots of time than required ;

    I thought if I have 2 HDD's I can Dual Boot ( one with Xp and one with 2003 for SAP ;I cannot remove optical Drive) now i think i need to go for 320 GB internal.

    one more question can i dual boot Xp 32 bit with 2003 64 bit
