Am I going crazy? when I'm plugged in on a/c adapter the screen brightness is amazing (like a bright 300nm LED should be). The minute I unplug, even if I override the settings and adjust the brightness to max it still feels like 25-30% less bright....

anyone know how to fix this? it's driving me insane....

There's a setting in the BIOS. I can't remember what it's called, but you disable to allow the max brightness when unplugged.

    Option 1: ThinkVantage
ThinkPad Configuration > LCD > Brightness when running on battery > Set it to "high" instead of "normal".

    Option 2: BIOS
    Config > Display > Brightness > High

and i thought you can never have full when unplugged because this is how laptops work on battery :)

never the less who wants MAX brightness on x300 ? it really hurts the eyes, even while i'm plugged i set it 50-60% max
