    Hey all,

I bought a 200 GB hard drive to replace my stock 80GB version on my Thinkpad T42. I'd like to ask for recommendations and advice on how best to proceed with the new OS install. Should I:

    A. use my recovery disks, giving me the same software install as the day I received it?

    B. do a fresh install of XP and then go to lenovo and download the drivers etc?

I woudl prefer to have the latest suite of drivers for the machine, but also do not want to go through a cumbersome process. Whats the best way to do this?

I note, having just started fresh on my old dell d800, that dell offers no way to scan your system and offer precisely targeted drivers. Does Lenovo have this capability?

    your thoughts most appreciated.

    regards

    Aziz Poonawalla

I would go with B. DO a frsh install and grab the driver from Lenovos site. That way you don't have a buch of stuff you don't need taking up space

I would agree with gamemint for the same reasons.
