    Hi all,
There's a great deal for this laptop which ends tomorrow so I plan on purchasing this for roughly 775 before taxes. The quote I had earlier was 850 w/o the sleeve and camera.

i5-2520M Processor 2.5GHz, 320 gb hd 7200 rpm, 4GB DDR3 with IPS screen, 720 hd camera, intel centrino wireles card, 6cell battery, windows 7 home premium, sleeve, bluetooth for the above price

My question is if it's worth getting the following:

    Windows 7 professional
    i5 2520(2.5 ghz) processor
    9cell battery
    bluetooth 3.0

I do work for a company that uses a light programing software, plus dreamweaver and photoshop for web design and school. I will be using powerpoint, word and of course web browsing for college.

Worth, in this case, is a very subjective question.

I thought it was worth it to me, to get the i7 version. Plenty of people would say it was not worth it, but to me, it was.

My general opinion on such things is: spend as much money as you have budgeted for the purchase.

Also, get the webcam if possible. This machine is an excellent video conferencing device.

floz is right, this will vary between people and the kind of work you do. Imo, the 2520 is the sweet spot in the range for price and performance. The i5-2520 also seems to be doing exceptionally well in terms of battery life for the few people here who have it. We're getting 9+hrs on the 6-cell in light load like browsing online.

This table is good for comparing cpu/gpu speeds:

Get the smallest battery that will get you through your work away from the outlet. The 9-cell is quite a bit heavier and larger, so if you don't need it, avoid it.

I'm an internet marketer and use pretty all the exact same programs you use in my daily tasks. I also have the 2520... working out great. Pop in an mSata and you'll love it even more.

Most of the stuff is really up to you and your personal situation. I don't use bluetooth, so no for me (you may be different). Six cell is enough for me and I like how it is a good bit more streamlined than the 9... but again you may be different. I get plenty of battery life out of the six so I don't have a need for the 9.

Can you share the source of the discount for the "great deal"?

Bluetooth can be handy if you have the same on your phone and want to sync things with your computer.

Follow the instructions here: Signing up for Mastercard is free and you don't need to buy with a mastercard too.

Don't bother with the Lenovo sleeve. It's rubbish. Read the reviews on the website or on this forum. I wish I had.

Yes it is. I bought it with my X200 and didn't use it. The material is too soft, and the fit is too loose (even with 9-cell battery).
