Other than say Newegg and the IBM site itself are there any good stores that focus on IBM, for example Fujitsu has Portable one, ASUS with Pro portable, but what about IBM?

The best online store to buy an IBM notebook is from IBM itself. However http://www.ibm.com does not offer the best selection or discounts. To see the widest selection of notebooks use IBM's education website http://www.ibm.com/education/us If you're a student, educator, or an alumni you can order from this site. If not, oder from their Visa credit card site http://www.ibm.com/businesscenter/visa which offers discounts of 10%, or more, off IBM's regular Web Prices you'd see on ibm.com.

CostCentral.com is often the lowest price. Their return is very bad. Once you buy, you cannot return it if it has been opened. There is a 15% restocking fee on returned/refused unopened laptops. So you better make sure it is what you want.

If I order from IBM's Visa credit card site which offers a discount of 10% or more, how much discount do I get from the student's site? I am a college student by the way.

When I was looking to purchase a T42 last year, I considered the IBM site, Newegg, Costcentral and Techonweb. IBM's price was the highest. Newegg had good prices but didn't carry the model i wanted. I went with Techonweb because the model was in stock and had the best price. Though the packaging could have been better, the notebook was delivered in timely fashion and there were no dead pixels.

i think this needs to be said again...

Buying from IBM is the cheapest if you use VISA or EDUCATION discount. I have searched extensively and have not found better prices.

I have been looking around on the sight and someone else had this link posted. CostCentral.com seems to be pretty cheap! This deal seems like a really good deal (tell me if I am wrong about this).
