I want to get a used T60/T61 recently, due to limited budget.
I like the high resolution screen very much, like 14.1'' 1400x1050 or 15.4'' 1600x1200, and the T7200 with 2G ram is good enough for me now.

So any suggestions and where is the place I can get a good deal from?

    Thanks.

One of the last well built ThinkPad's. I bought mine last year before they changed over to the Santa Rosa chipset. I absolutely love it, great screen, keyboard, and sturdy.

To the OP, you can always PM me an offer. ;) :D

    Thanks a lot guys.
I've checked lenovo outlet, it seems there is no 4:3 model right now.
I think they definitely should have left the 4:3 option open for 4:3 lovers.

Anyway, I will keep an eye on ebay recently.
plus the microsoft cashback is a good deal to go with isn't it?
Just wandering why MS is so generous this time? for what? for clicks on live.com?

If you can find one, I recommend you get it with a UXGA Flexview screen. This was only available on the 15" T60P, and it may command a price premium. However, if you can find one it is about the best screen ever put on a notebook.

Yeah! That is what I want, or SXGA+ on a 14.1''.
I think you mean T61p right?

I don't think the Flexview (IPS) display is was available on the T61P. It is available in either 1400x1050 or 1600x1200 on the T42P, T43P, and T60P. You may find the list of screens used on Thinkpads at ThinkWiki useful.

Flexview screens, especially the FFS variants from Boe Hydis (T60P and all the Tablets) are ideal. They have tremendous viewing angles, solid color representation, and good refresh rates (IPS displays tend to be slower than TN panels, FFS fixes this).

However, these may be a tough find. There is no notebook currently on the market with a UXGA IPS display (x61 or x200 Tablet with SXGA+ and WXGA respectively are the best current option), so the people that have them may require you to pull them from their "cold dead hands".

The SXGA+ was available on available on the regular T60 too. In addition after they ran out of UXGA screens the P models had the SXGA+ screen as well.

If you're looking for a used T60, the Marketplace forums on ThinkPads.com is another good place to look for them. They tend to be a bit more honest over there as opposed to the way they are vague on eBay. Many of the sellers have been there for quite some time and give very detailed descriptions of the machines for sale. I believe there's some IPS T60s on there right now, some with warranty left, which means you could upgrade the warranty if desired. Plus you can probably upgrade the CPU if you need more oomph, though the chipset limits you to 3GB.
