    this thing looks interesting but sort of gimmicky. Has anyone used one?

    I don't have the DS, but I do have the W701 that I may sell sometime in the future. We'll see. From my understanding, the extra screen was hit or miss for some people. Some said the lighting was uneven and the color saturation was off. The resolution was a little different too, so some would adjust the resolution so that you could have a direct carry over from one screen to the next.

    So it really depends on what you want to use the extra screen for. If you are using it as a reference window for an image you are editing maybe not the best. But if you are punching numbers or other data and want to have the reference over there I could see that working.
    The only other way I would see myself using it, was to put One-note linked over there, and then have a full screen for everything else.

    The biggest benefit of the w701 was having the built in digitizer.
