Or it gets to heated? i have a 'deviation' to surf/watch movies with a laptop on my laps/stomach in bed... so this is my main concern when buying a laptop.

on the charts in the review page in this site it shows 99 temperature!! and in other sites it says that the 61 series is very cool. who should i believe?

I really like the TP 61, and this is the only confusion i have that prevents me from buying it, so any clarification on this subject is much appreciated,

    Thanks a lot.

It is very cool as long as you are not playing games.

Also if it has an integrated graphics card as opposed to a dedicated card it will be cooler.

Luckily the T61 does not seem to have vents on the bottom so there's not as much worry about blocking airflow when on your lap.

I would still recommend getting some kind of lap table.

Yes, the T61 is MUCH cooler the my Dell 1521. The Dell gets very hot, whereas the T61, when under more aggressive tasks, just gets a little warm.

It's cool, but relatively speaking. It still gets warmer than body temperature. If you live in a cold place it might actually be nice without a lap table.

It could just be me, but my T61p get a bit uncomfortable after a while. However, it's not because of the heat; it's because of the weight.

lol, it's all personal preference in the heat, but under heavy loads is when I feel my laptop starting to become quite toasty.

I think either way, it's unhealthy if you're male. Because, uh, the radiation and the heat is bad for your balls. If you do have to put it on your lap, put a cushion in between.
