    audio driver installation problem for r61(8933 a38)

    I could not install audio drivers for r61 type-8933 model a38 ,
    i'm using window xp sp2
    i downloaded from lenovo website,But It was not installed
    The link from where i downloaded the driver do not have any reference for 8933


    If some had some experience please share

    I do not have any experience or knowledge about this type/model, but the audio driver is something you could "force" to install.

    When you download the driver from Lenovo and run it, it packs up the package contents somwhere on your harddrive. Now, if you can not install the driver by double clicking on the executable, you can try to install the driver via the device manager.

    In the device manager, try to update the driver for your audio device and when it asks for the path, just try the folder or the subfolders where you unpacked your driver. By doing this, you will only be able to install the drivers, and not the extra utilities for the sound device.

    If you are unable to update the driver, then it is probably some kind of error deeper in the OS or maybe even something wrong with your hardware.

    Oh, btw, I almost forgot to mention the UAA High Definition Audio driver. You must install this one also to be able to get it working. Search for it and you will find it (I think that Lenovo has it also somewhere..)
