hey guys, I have a Seagate ST9500420AS in my t420 and wanted to reduce some of its noise and help save some battery life. Does anyone know of any automatic acoustic management program that would work with this drive. Thanks

I have like that exact drive in my W520 and I sometimes forget that I even have an HDD in the thing. I don't think AAM will help that much with battery life or noise (and not to mention all my programs report that the drive doesn't support AAM).

yeah, you are right about that it doesn't support AAM. My seagate is not that loud but it just makes a constant sound all the time. This is by far the quietest laptop I even used so that is probable the reason I can hear the HD.
