Could someone clarify the warranty options for me?

With the basic warranty, which is 1 year, automatically included in the pricing, now if I choose "3 year basic warranty extension", do these 3 years include the 1 year basic or not? In other words, will I get a total of 3 year, or a total of 1+3=4 year warranty?

the 1 year warranty is standard. if you get the 3 years, your warranty is extended to 3 years, (total of 3)

Thanks. That is very misleading on Lenovo's side. "3 year extension" sounds like warranty is extended by 3 years, so I would have taken it to mean 1+3=4 years total. If it's as you explained, then they should instead say simply "3 year warranty" (or, "2 year extension from the basic warranty").

P.S. How is the quality of On Site repair service? If you have some problem, do they sometimes have to come more than once because the first time they didn't bring enough parts?

In my experience the on-site techs are quite good in the US. Outside the US it's a big old 'YMMV'.

I've never had a tech not bring all the right parts on the first trip, so I can't comment on that part.
