hello all, on vista32, the battery gauge icon takes a lot of free empty space on taskbar, about 2cm on its right side.
    is it usual?
i use latest battery manager utility.

You can always disable the icons by opening power manager and going to Options and then unchecking "Show power manager gauge in taskbar."

If you want to get to power manager after that, you can use the other battery icon in the systray, or browse to it through the Start menu.

If you turn off the taskbar icon you can press Fn+F3 and select Manage Settings to bring up Power Manager ... unless you have Fn+F3 configured to function otherwise.

yes, I already knew that :)
but the question is: does the battery icon usually come with an empty space (1-2cm) at its right? also for you??

It does for my X200. That's just how it is, I don't think you can change it.

    so it's as i was suspecting :(
lenovo doesn't care too much to aesthetic attributes.
the fact is very annoying, it steals a lot of space from open programs icons!

Are you talking aboutr the 1-2 cm space that is replaced by another icon, when you connect the charger?

I think it's awesome. I like having it there. Your screen res must be pretty low if this little icon is making you run out of space, but then again, this is why you have the option of disabling it and keeping your 'aesthetics' as you like them.

MastahRiz: I'm not talking about the icon itself, but about the useless empty space on its right.

arlab: the empty space reduces a little when charger is connected because of the charger icon, but there is still some other large free space! do also you see that space?

Here are the spacing values in Vista:

I have a 1920x1200px resolution, so the spacing isn't that intrusive to me... But, as the screen resolution decreases, the spacing does get uglier...

Don't know what are the spacing values for XP, though. They could be bigger...

I verified that in lower screen resolution the spacing becames ugly!
In native res the spacing is acceptable.
    Thank you arlab! ;)
