Hi i have a t42, bought off ebay a couple weeks ago.
i was using it with the battery until it was down to about 5%, so i plugged it in, and now the battery's not charging at all. This has never happened before, is it the battery or the computer? everything was working fine until today.

No idea, but did your Ebay transaction go well???

I was thinking about getting a T42 as well and going on Ebay but I dont I can trust buying something with a lot of money....

mine went fairly well. i would advise you to demand pics of the actual laptop you're receiving. and i wouldn't get one thats not still under warranty.

mine was listed as "like new" but i found minor blemishes here and there, which are not really noticable but to me isn't exactly like new.

sounds like there was some sort of callibration issue and the machine thought the battery was fully charged, the old shut down and reboot method usually takes care of that as you found!
