    Hi all, I'm in a huge rush and I need to buy a laptop for my boss

    traditionally we've bought x1 carbons...

    is this still the best business/lightweight model Lenovo carries?

    or I'd take a look at the new T480 (not the S version, that's retarded), but you need to order with a vpro cpu to get the better heatsink

    Best depends on your goal, which you didn't say much about, but I would say yes given the fact you can equip it a low voltage quad core and the improved LCD unless the budget is a concern.

    looking for 1tb SDD and 16 or 24 (????) GB RAM, at least 14inch screen

    wait i'm having a brain fart, what's the difference between the t480 and the t480s? my boss travels all the time so the the t480s seems like a good deal? but she says the x1 carbon has terrible battery life...........so maybe the t480?

    For the boss sure, but most ThinkPads are bought by bean counters, then handed out to the minions. The bean counters don't care about your viewing experience, just cost.
