I think my old router is at the end and I am looking for a replacement. So I am wondering about the "best" router for stable and fast connections for my T500 with Intel 5100 AGN card?
What router worked best/what worst for you?

To tell the truth, I hardly notice the difference. Generally, I prefer Linksys and D-Link routers mainly because of their firmware and overall reliable performance. Also, I've had great warranty experiences with Cisco's Linksys division. Personally, I've had bad experiences with Netgear, but generally speaking, you'll be fine.

No such thing as perfect IMO. It will be plus in one side, minus on the other side. Just make sure the aftersales warranty is good.

I would recommend getting something compatible with DD-WRT.
If the stock firmware is not stable for you, you can re-flash with DD-WRT and that should give you a more stable platform with larger feature set.
I run it on my old LinkSys WRT54GS rev 4 and it stays up between power outages with heavy use from lots of devices. Current uptime is 138 days, so I guess the power outage was back in September. -

Netgear WNDR3700 if you care about the 5ghz band at all. DD-WRT compatible, and better than my Linksys WRT600N was.

Although maybe a little on the expensive side, I can recommend the Linksys WRT610N. DD-WRT compatible - actually I have been running DD-WRT on it from day 1, so I cannot talk about the stock firmware (I had some features I needed that were missing from the stock fw).
But I do recommend giving DD-WRT a try, whichever router you end up purchasing! -
I thought this was an interesting read.

Depends on what your needs are but a quick search of google products gives us what everyone has been buying( link). I would probably go with something like Linksys E3000( link). If I Was feeling adventruous I would go for something like a Linksys Link WRT600N( link) which lets you hook up usbs to add storage to your network. Also the NetGear Rangemax is a good choice( link).
