after a clean install, would you update the bios version before everything else, even the chipset drivers? i noticed there is a very recent bios update (6/4/08) up on lenovo's site and i'm wondering if it's at all worth it/necessary to update the bios.

also, do i need the Intel AMT drivers? i'm following stallen's clean install guide, and i know it's not mentioned, but i'm still wondering what it is/if i need it.

    what i currently downloaded:
    - Intel Chipset Driver/INF Update Utility for ALL 900 Series chipsets
    - Matrix Storage Manager
    - ACPI Power Management Driver
    - Audio Driver
    - Ricoh 4-in-1 card reader driver
    - UltrNav DRIVER
    - UltraNav UTILITY
    - Wifi Driver
    - Hotkey Driver
    - System Interface
    - Intel PRO/1000 LAN adapter
    - Modem Adapter
    - All of the registry patches at the bottom of the driver matrix page
    - Video driver from laptopvideo2go

i'll eventually be connecting this to an external monitor. do i need the LCD/Monitor driver then?
    anything i'm missing?

leaving the bios alone is your best and safest bet. bios updates are meant to resolve hardware issues and possibly update with newer components. unless you are explicitly having issues, move on. again, relax and enjoy.

alright, sounds good enough for me :D

do you have any opinions about intel amt drivers? i don't exactly know what they are, and since i don't, i'm going to assume i don't need them

It's unlikely that you'd need Intel ATM.

Yes leave the bios alone. I tried updating my old laptops bios, followed the instructions completely, and it stopped halfway through. Messed up everything I ended up having to work 3+ hours to get my computer back to functionality which included wiping all the data.
