    There are many factors that affect boot up times (including individual variations); however, it's mainly from the HDD/SSD and OS. Typically you won't notice much of a difference between older and newer notebooks if those two components are the same (ie. Intel 80GB G2 SSD and Win7).

    16-18 seconds on x200s with a Intel 80GB X25M SSD and Windows 7 Professional x64.
