Just received my T61. First thing I noticed is that the keyboard (42T3109/42T3143) isn't anything like the quality of my old T41. In fact, the top of the Windows key is wobbly and about ready to come off.

I have read some other posts about the same thing. Said that the T61 kb was crap compared to their old Thinkpads.

U.S. English
42T3209 - Alps
42T3273 - Chicony
42T3143 - NMB
Looks like you have the NMB -
Isn't NMB the one people say is the best?
Where do you found those part numbers. I haven't gotten my laptop shipped yet, but I have the order status page. -
I wonder what my keyboard code corresponds to, its not any of the above three, it is as follows :42V8195
-
Mine is the same part number as panteedropper....42V8195
-
I also have a 15.4" WSXGA+ with 42V8287. Any idea which screen is this? -
You can know the exact manufacturer/component used in your laptop only after it is built and shipped to you.
42V8195 is generic component number for the keyboard -- you can't get the manufacturer info from it. Check here for keyboard part numbers for T61. Here, 42T3143 corresponds to NMB keyboard. -
