Hi, i'm almost entiraly definatly going to buy a thinkpad r60. But well here in the netherlands it's just about mission impossible to see a thinkpad in real life. But anyway, my old man has a dell d610 from his work(read: a d610 being abused for a very long time). So i was wondering if anybody has happend to see both of the models and therefore being able to define the build difference in terms of quality.
    Thx, in advance.

The D610 I believe has a magnesium alloy case if I recall correctly while the R60 is made of a plastic material that's fairly rugged. I would say they're about even , but the D610 lid has slightly better protection than the R60 since the R60 lid is plastic. Either way, the R60 is a better machine than the D610 in my opinion.

The d600's at my work feel very flimsy and cheap. The lid also easily pops downward with a finger press.

Get the T60. IMO, it's better than the R60 and way way way way way way way better than the D610.

Thinking back I should have probably said "pressing on the top cover makes the lid pop down on the lcd, and the screen ripples like hell". But I guess it also works the other way, because the hinges are super weak. Hell the ones on my brothers 5150 dell can barely hold up the screen anymore.

Would like to get the t60, but that's just way to expensive. At the moment a similar speced t60 costs around 500 euro more and that's just to much for me.
