build/ship wait time??

From your past experiences, how long after the purchase did you have to wait until you got your laptop delivered to you?

I ordered on the night of 27th July, so its been exactly 3 days since then.

I have to move out of this mailing address on August 16th

so either it has to be here by then, or else ill have to cancel the order...

I just called them to check my order status (canadian orders cant be checked online) but they were closed.

I live in Waterloo, Ontario which is pretty close to the boarder.

Do you think I could get my laptop delivered in exactly 20 days? like what are the chances?

 

I live in Gainesville, FL. I got my T61 on 7th day after I placed the order.

 

I live in California. Ordered it friday the 25th, got it the 30th.

 

Shipment appears to be fast right now. I'm planning to order a T61 tomorrow.

 

Ordered a T61p on 6/6 and got it on the 11th or 12th (so 6 or 7 days later, can't remember ). And that's amazing to me since it's coming from Hong Kong.

 

My last T61p took about 2 weeks. I'm in Canada. You just have to sit and wait. That's the thing with Lenovo. Their website (Canada or US) is crapola. Utterly useless when it comes to getting products information and ordering information/status.

 

1st machine = 7 days in my hand.
2nd machine = 10 days in my hand.

 

Which machine do you plan on ordering? You def won't get it by Aug.16. School in Canada starts on the 2nd of Sept

 

I had two T61's on order and Cancelled both because I got tired of the waiting and the slow email response. I went to Best Buy and bought a Sony FW. The TP is probably a tougher machine, but the Sony has a beautiful screen, and i had it the same day!

I just didn't feel good about dealing with a Computer manufacturer that takes two days to respond to emails, and can only say that they should ship my machine in two weeks...maybe.

I ordered my first machine on July9.

Hope you all have no problems with your machines. I've moved on. Computers are a commodity. Every manufacturer uses the same components and software.

 

did you have to sign for the package when it was delivered? the reason why I ask is because I chose to have it delivered to my apartment (in a different state from where I am presently). lenovo doesn't deliver to public mail centers...what about an apartment complex office?

 

Yeah, you have to sign it when it comes to your door. I am not sure about apartment buildings but usually if no one is home, they just leave a note on the door about where to pick it up, its usually pretty close

 

I don't know about Canada, but for me in the US my package was delivered by UPS. I let them make the first delivery attempt(nobody was home). They left a note that they had stopped by. Then I called the number on the ticket and arranged for pickup at the local UPS. Worked like a charm and I didn't have to wait at home all day to sign for the package.

 

I just called them and they said it will be at least 2-3 weeks

 

Why don't you hold out till the day before you leave. Then if it still doesn't come, cancel on the phone immediately. I have heard that Canada has huge delays(not sure if still true), but at least in the US they say that it will take a long time but winds up coming much sooner. For example, I ordered my config with a 9 cell battery, which was very difficult to get at the time(no sure if it still is). In fact, lenovo removed it from the config options, but I received my machine in 10 days and was expecting lot more of a delay.

 

I just called Lenovo and they said it would be approximately 15 days before it ships. Actual delivery will occur 1-2 weeks after that. I think they're just sandbagging...but I could be wrong.

 

I placed my order on July 9th, it shipped the 18th and the first delivery attempt was on the 24th.

So the build time was nine days and shipping took six.

Edit: This is with 9 cell and ground shipping.

 

Ordered on 18/8, with 2 day shipping in the US. Got it on 24/8. With bluetooth and a 9 cell battery

 

Dolin, i ordered a T61p on the 24th of July (after hours), It began being built on July 27th, and it should be built and at my door in 10-14 days (standard shipping).

 

i was reading the other threads about canadian orders
people from US are getting their notebooks 2 weeks at max after the order
i wonder if thats gonna be my case also (i live in canada)

 

I ordered mine on July 21st and under status it still says "in process" . I ordered it with a 9-cell battery and bluetooth so that could be part of the delay. The estimated ship date is 8/4 so we are getting down to that but the 11 day wait so far has been rough.

 

Their site doesn't have the best feedback. On both my orders they had "In Process" till it was shipped. Just hang on, you will have your machine. I would suggest in the mean time start to research the accessories you would want with the machine(ex: sleeve, bag, mouse etc)

 

Yeah I have been hearing that they don't update the status page much , oh well. I've received the accessories that I wanted to go with it so now it's just a wait .

did anyone in canada got their order shipped in "1-2 weeks" ?

 

I love your case selection, I am jealous!! Pelican makes some cool stuff. Their cases are pricey though. I would have probably bought one for my machine, but I really don't travel with it much at all, so i don't think it would be worth it for me. Enjoy!

 

yea i ordered mine the 22nd, estimated was the 5th I called and they said its shipping out no sooner than the 11th but could ship out later than that because of the "Bluetooth constraint"

 

hey, i am new here but i ordered my T61p on July 15th and i recieved it on july 29th after 1 failed attempt. i live in richmond hill ontario if that helps. when it says the item has been shipped and you get the shipping number 5 days after, i couldn't wait so i live chated lenovo and took them like 15mins for the rep to find my tracking number but once i got the number and tracked it my laptop was already in richmond hill n it delivered the next day. I got an email saying that it was shipped out on the 23rd and i would recieve my tracking number 5 days later. but i guess 5 days later it was already in richmond hill. so beest of luck to you!

Well the 4th came and went, now it says est. ship date of 8/18 . I'm really hoping that it will be sooner.

 

Im glad i canceled mine i would still be waiting. I ordered on the 28th and it shipped out today. I figrued i will just get a micro blutooth usb. I only use one usb at a time anyhow.

 

Mine shipped today! Ordered 7/31 and shipped 8/5.

Pretty quick. I hope it gets here by Friday!

EDIT: FYI bluetooth was not even an selectable when I ordered.

 

i ordered on 27th and it "started" processing my order today

 

past my estimated ship date of the 5th ordered the 22nd, kinda aggravated but its bc of bluetooth hopefully it ships next week

 

My T61 Arrived

Ordered 7/31, shipped 8/5, and delivered 8/6

 

Looks like my T61 is still stuck in processing.

I ordered on 7/29, and it has been processing ever since. I'm a bit bummed out by that. The added features I have are 1.) 160GB 7200RPM hard drive, 2.) Intel 4965AGN Wireless Adapter, 3.) Fingerprint Reader, and 4.) 9-Cell battery. I never ran into an option for Bluetooth, so I imagine that I don't have that on my order.

Does the status say "in process" in blue? Sometimes it gets stuck there and doesnt refresh but is actually in production. Just call Lenovo and they will tell you, the website isn't that great. I had the same problem but it was actually in the "production" stage

 

Actually, yes, my T61 is in production. I didn't know they made a distinction between "processing" as opposed to "production." The fellow I spoke to over the phone wasn't terribly cheery and when I asked if "processing" meant that it was being put together, he said (none too enthusiastically) "yes that's what it means." It must have been a long workday for him.

It's a bit of a conundrum for me because school's starting soon and I'll be changing addresses as a result. The representative that I spoke with said that the could "redirect" the UPS shipment, and while that should get the object to me eventually, it sounds like a painful process that's going to delay the package as it bounces (perhaps literally) from one misconceived location to another. It also pretty much defeats the purpose of getting 2-Day shipping.

I suppose it could be worse.

I'm on day 18 of "In Process" so don't feel too bad . I added Bluetooth, ABGN wireless, fingerprint reader, 160gb 7200rpm, and 9-cell battery so I am guessing that that's why there is a hold up. Ohh well, I am sure that it'll be awesome when it gets here .

Could be the battery, last time i talked to them they said 9 cell batterys are in high demand.

yea i thought it was bluetooth, now yesterday when they called they said theres a battery shortage and once they get the part it will ship out immediately..they said there pretty sure its the 13th, but i leave for school the 15th haha, so I probably wont get it.

I was thinking that perhaps it was the battery too, as every other option that I selected is a part that's outsourced and is a regularly produced item.

On the bright side, this should delay the 21-day price match period, which I was told begins on your invoice/shipping date.

I just called them again,
they said there will be a factory delay so it wont be shipped out till 21, by earliest, which is like 3 weeks from date of order.

i dont wanna deal with this problem in the future so goodbye lenovo

Ordered 7/21 shipped 8/11 God that was a hellacious wait, I am glad it finally shipped. I opted for 2 day shipping so it should arrive by Wed. if I am lucky .

 

Shoot, I ordered mine on 8/3 and I had the 9 cell battery but no bluetooth. Anyone else order around that time and have any info on the order - my ship date says 8/18 but now I am worried.
