    I just placed my order for a 2378DXU today, 12/7, and the expected ship date is 12/23. The website said the build time was 10 days on the website when I purchased it. Is this normal? And how long is it actually running these days?

    I think it is hit or miss. I've read forums where it has taken a substantial amount of time for laptops to be shipped and others where IBM has been ahead of expectations. I ordered my Thinkpad a couple of weeks ago - it was projected to ship within about 2 and a half weeks later, but I actually had it at my doorstep 5 days after ordering. Couldn't complain about that...

    The websites estimates aren't very reliable, in my experience. If you call and talk to a salesperson you may get a more accurate date.

    I had placed an order for my T42p 2373-KYU, around a week ago, and I got the same message about it being shipped around 12/23. I got my laptop delivered last thursday. Not to shabby, and my Thinkpad is absolutely perfect.

    I'll just add my comments to the thread. I ordered a 2379DXU Monday morning, and the estimated ship date was January 7. Well, I recieved the shipping notice yesterday, so with any luck, it should arrive this week.
