I am in the same boat, though I am looking at T430s.
Between the two drives, I don't think you would notice significant performance difference for practical purposes. The bigger question is whether the mSATA port in Y470 support SATA III.
Please do keep us posted on you decision and subsequent benchmarks. Thank you.

I'm planning to get a 128gb mSATA SSD for my incoming X230T. According to Mydigitaldiscount's webpage, the Y450 is compatible with mSATA SSD. You can check here mSATA SSD Compatability List | My Digital Discount

They also said the Smart Series isn't RAID supported, but the Bullet Proof 3 is. I have no idea what RAID is, but mydigitaldiscount recommended for me the Bullet Proof 3.

Hold out for at least a 128 gb drive. 64 gb for Windows 7 + apps can bet used up fast.

Ive decided to get the 500MB/sec & Write Speed: 110MB/sec

Basically because I plan to use it as a main hdd that holds the OS and software. Once its written in the the drive I only care about how quick the applications opens, hence the read speed correct?

They should both have the same bootup time right?

had u got the better one. chances are if u upgrade your laptop. if it cant use the max speeds now. it would in the next new model. they are even making top end gaming laptops now with msata ports now. so speeds are nothing to worry bout had u planned to upgrade

Also did they change the ratings for the msata card? It shows as 320read/190write ??
