    can express card slot be swapped out for media card slot?

    i recently received my r61 from lenovo. i could have sworn i picked the media card option. but come delivery, i was pleasantly surprised with an express card slot which i will never use because i am a student. can these be switched out? i did not find the part on lenovo's accessories page. any thoughts?

    NO, I have the same problem and situation. Except I chose Exress Card for a TV tuner, thats now broken. What I would do is return the copmuter. It might actually be cheaper because there is a huge sale on the Lenovo website.

    the invoice says express card slot. it mustve been my mistake. i would return it, but its been about 3 weeks since i got the laptop. they have a 21 day return policy.

    you can find express card - card readers, but I dont know if they fit flush with the body of the laptop

    bought one and returned it due to it being super slow... would not recommend one of these.

    I'd call Lenovo customer service and see what the part would cost. I'd be pretty sure the part would simply swap into the express card slot.
