it was my first time to use this fonction of my lappy today since i got it two weeks ago(not the Rescue and Recovery fonction of thinkvantage), every time i tried to restore the system to any previous restore point, the system responded normallly, but mostly every time when xp restarted, the system told me that THE SYSTEM RESTORE IS NOT COMPLETE.
what is more strange is that didnt occur every time, i notice if i create a point of restore and i try to use this point in the next 5 minutes, it would work!!! beyond this period, for exemple, the points i created last week, it cannot work!! it seems that my lappy has lost his memory!
i tried also to check the events viewer but in the discription, i got nothing more than the system cannot be restored to the previous point and any settings is changed.
anyone has the same problem? any ideas plz...

If your notebook is two weeks old why are you using System Restore all the time?
-
isn't system restore for when it crashes?
I just got my Z61m two weeks ago as well and now you have me worried... -
hi zaz, i didnt use it all the time, i just set the point of restore in case the system goes wrong. unfortunetly when i used it for the first time, the system restore didnt work!:-(

I tried to run a System Restore on my Z61m from a restore point and I said that the restore had failed as well. It's probably the ThinkVantage backup software causing a conflict and preventing it from working like it should. Probably if you wiped the drive and did a clean install of XP and didn't setup the ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery stuff that it would function properly.

the problem is i DID succeed two times with the thinkvantage in my lappy!
