can we charge the t5oo in sleep , shutdown or hbernate mode? Does it have to be on the on mode to charge? thanks.
-
Yes, it charges even when it is sleeping, shut-down or hibernating.

are there any indicator that says charging complete? The reason I ask is I once plug it in and after 1 1/2 hour the battery was the same as when I last used. It did not charge. Thanks
-
Maybe you didnt lug it in all the way or it was disconnected on the other side...
It will charge whenever you lug it in. AFAIK, there isnt a different light for when its comlete, but it should always charge if all of the lugs are in right. -
It probably didn't charge because of your battery threshold settings. Just right-click on the Power Manager icon (it looks like a battery) and click "Change Battery Charge Thresholds..." and from there you can change at what point your battery charges. For example, I set my battery to start charging when it's below 70% and to stop when it's at 90%.

Even when the machine is off, the battery lights will operate.
You will have to have the display open as the lights are inside at the bottom of the display bezel.
The battery light (3rd from the right) should blink when it is charging. It will be solid green when it is fully charged (or not charging and above a certain %). -
Say for instance if the battery thresholds are set to stop charging at say 40% and the laptop is completely off, will the battery still stop at 40% or will it charge until it's full?

The thresholds also apply under other operating systems. So if, for example, you were to shut down your Windows machine with thresholds set, pull the hard drive and swap it with a Linux install, the thresholds set in Windows would still hold.
Until the thresholds are changed by the Power Manager application they will hold and be respected. -
giangdude and jonlumpkin, thanks both for answering my questions! I will do this when I get my laptop!
