just bought myself a T400s from ebay. Seems kinda cheap. Total costs $975 minus bing cash back, ebay bucks, etc (net cost should be around $700 plus).
Hope everything went well. btw, the seller had 2 of these and sold one mine before I bought it. The seller also sold one T400s with fingerprint before (shown on feedback), made me confident about this purchase

Great deal, hope you get it soon and enjoy it
-
Wow with 128 SSD on top of it? Congrats.
-
That seems way too cheap. Hope it works out.

+1 on jaredy's comment.
the photo shows a UK english keyboard, making me question whether these systems will be covered under IWS warranty. plus, they're listed as being used, making me question how they were acquired. if they were stolen overseas and imported into the US, you might have an interesting issue on your hands if and when you need warranty work.
good luck and keep us posted. -

I hope it goes well too. Seller has all documentation etc, so probably not stolen. Worst case, if I received the notebook, I just resell it (or sell the parts - ssd alone costs $250 anyways). I dont really need a notebook anyway since I am using x301 right now. What do you think x301 or t400s?

Mine was received, it's in excellent condition.
I guess it's a school evaluation sample, it comes with lots of Adobe softwares.
Ant he sent me by 2day air. Super fast -
Mine is a US version, I vertify by lenovo warranty, when you type in your SN, the page will tell you where the warranty locates
-

Because it's way too cheap, and both batteries are never used.( I paid 50 extra) .
But my t400s has two dead pixel.
You guys got a better deal, feel so bad. I should wait . I paid 125 extra, just for fringer print.... -
What I would do is call Lenovo (not checking online) and asking upfront if the notebook has been stolen. If they claim not, try to do an ownership transfer, then you'll know. Don't accept the notebook (and go beyond your 45 day paypal dispute deadline) until you do this.
-
I always ask for a machine serial number to check before buying. You got a great deal. Good luck with your purchase.

for chrixx, I dont need notebook but I usually buy and sell them a few times a year. So far I tried all from z61t, x60/61, x200/300/301, tablet, T, ideapad, etc
loving my x301 for now -
You might find this blog post comparing the two to be interesting:

just an update...I got my notebook last saturday. It is awesome. Warranty transfered to me and it is a 3 year warranty. Just wondering if anybody know, the model that I have is 2815-A13. I dont see it on lenovo tabook
-
Might have been a demo unit or something. Great that it worked out.
-
if it has a valid US warranty then it was either a) an internal lenovo demo asset sold to the public or b) a pre-production system sold to the public. either scenario is extremely rare since these types of system are typically dumped into the loaner pool for employees, magazines, online publications, and people on lenovo's "good list" to use, test, and play with on a limited basis. -
Okay you guys speak of this "ownership transfer". Does this only apply to non-U.S. systems? I thought the Lenovo warranty follows a machine so you really don't have to transfer any ownerships. The reason I'm asking is because I recently bought a used T400 on eBay too and thought I don't have to do anything...
-
for me, the ownership has been transferred to me. Bad thing though, the latch of the notebook actually broke so I can close the notebook. The seller arranged with lenovo to picked up the notebook from me to be fixed under warranty. I guess the warranty works in US too.
still dont know why the latch broke on the first day (first minute of opening the notebook too) -
Its best not to buy expensive items off ebay without being able to guarantee providence... an official outlet shop, or an obviously well cared for second hand machine by a private seller with receipts etc.
If its too cheap to be true... -
another update, I got my notebook back from lenovo.
Wow that was fast. I dropped it off at UPS on Tuesday, arrive at lenovo by Wednesday morning and they ship it back to me same day. I received back today (thursday). Less than 48 hours turn around. That is very impressive IMO
Now the notebook's latch is fixed, good as new
