Help! It sounds like I have a cricket in my laptop!

Every few minutes or so there's a series of 5-10 chirping noises coming from my laptop speakers. It sounds like a cricket or the countdown clock from Lost. I can raise or lower the level of the chirping using the volume control. The noise is occuring no matter what is running on the computer, ie. dvd playback, web surfing, downloading files, etc.

    I have a T61 T7250 running Windows XP.

Checked the forums for possible answers, came up with nothing.

Thanks in advance for any help on this!
