I have a T61 and I DON'T have the Active protection system (APS) installed. When I am using the computer on my lap and move it a little bit around, it restarts. I am wondering if the computer senses the motion even without the APS installed.
What could be the other reasons for it?
Also, why can't I search the forums? Whats up with that?
    Thanks for your help.

Do you hear any noise when you jolt or rattle it?

no, no noise. I called a lenovo tech rep in Atlanta and he said that its the APS protecting the hard drive even though its not installed. Another rep said that APS doesn't work if it is not installed.

    Please help.

Does APS restart your computer? I would have thought it would just stop the harddrive. At the most it should shutdown your computer. Restarting it would likely cause more damage if it is indeed being activated because of a physical shock.

Yeah, this sounds like another issue, like maybe something to do with your motherboard or PSU.
