Shaaazaaam! Take that, MBA!

The ThinkPad line is reverting back to its premium price. Too expensive for my taste.
-
I think it's mostly due to the 64GB solid state disk drive. That and take off 15% for Lenovo's traditional online discount and you're about there. It's still a little bit more expensive, but so was the 14'' standard screen T61 when it first came out.
Unless there's some totally new battery technology in the X300, I'm not really excited about the standard 3 cell battery. -

Most Topseller models have always had insane prices listed online through outside retailers. They are most often top spec'd models, which hold a massive premium over what you would configure online through Lenovo.com. IBM models were the same way.

I looked on the Lenovo site, and I didn't see the X300 available there yet.

The OP links are for pre-order I believe.
-
Oh, I guess that makes good sense.

I am holding out until may when there are faster choices for 22mm Intel processors (that still consume 17W):

I hope the X300 turns out to be a quality product, then I'd be excited to pair it with the 1.86GHz SL9400! (And a 6-cell battery!)

configuration for x300 is out.
