I have a x60 with a x6 ultrabase and a DVD burner(Panasonic UJ-852). I don't carry my ultrabase. i like to convert my uj-852 into an external drive via an usb enclosure. Anybody has experience with it? Thanks for the advice in advance!

I guess this is the closest thing to what you want: IBM Portable Drive Bay 2000 19K4480...

But I think it would be simpler solution just to buy an external drive. -
any recs for a slim external dvd/cd-rw drive that works well, and a bonus if powered solely by USB?
