    is there such a thing? Prefer to stay with lenovo but I'm open to other brands.

    I'm not 100% sure as I'm leaving this brand because they remove the hdd activity led BUT I think the yoga2 or thinkpad yoga should fit your needs.

    I think both of those only have 1 DIMM slot - the Yoga2 datasheet says 8GB max.

    Yup, I don't think any of the next-gen ThinkPad convertibles can do 16GB... x220t/x230t should fill that requirement, but then those don't have the high-res screen.

    The X230t maybe able to do 32 gigs of ram, when the 16 gigs SODIMM DDR3 modules come to market (if they come to market).
