Based on looks alone, I say the CM Notepal U2/U3. It compliments the Y500 nicely and seems to be making a positive impact on temperatures. I got the U2 model, wish I went with the bigger U3. The fans are quiet but they do not put out a lot of CFM and reviews say they get noisy after a while which I can't confirm since I just started using it last week.

I have a Y570 and I use Cooler Master Ultra-Slim Laptop Cooling Pad w/ 160mm Fan to cool it because it started to overheat after a little over a year of use. On average, it keeps my Y570's temp at around 55C when streaming videos and below 70-80C for at least an hour when gaming. Without it, my laptop can hit 101C when playing games (probably needs to be repasted), so I think this cooling pad does work decently for under 30 USD.
