    Hello

I am trying to get a replacement keyboard for a T-61, machine type is 6465-CTO

I found this page. It shows Canadian French keyboards but no Canadian English keyboards. Am I to assume that my computer will work with a U.S. English keyboard, for example the P/N 42T3209 ?

In addition, any advice as to how to save a few bucks replacing this keyboard would be appreciated. The machine is currently out of warranty. I am in Toronto - should I just grab one from IBM or can I save a few bucks buying it from a third party supplier? There's only one letter key broken on this keyboard. Does anyone ever just buy a spare key and somehow kluge it on there?

the US english layout will work fine with your system.   the computer won't know any different.   just be sure to set up your region/language control panel for US english if you were previously using a canadian french layout in case a few keys are in different locations.

Ok erik, thanks. This has always been an English language unit so hopefully the settings will be intact. We Googled the procedure for taking the keyboard off (ostensibly to take the PCI Express card out) and it looks straight ahead. Hopefully I can do this repair for her if I can get her a keyboard.

Any other suggestions about a good source for this part in Toronto are appreciated. IBM wants $85 + tax for it and 5 days to get it here.
