hey all,
ok i've been reading this forum since yesterday and i noticed many people are talking about missing pixels in their new thinkpads.
dead or missing pixels? is that some known defect with thinkpads?
-
I haven't heard of too many. I just got my T61p two weeks ago and no dead/stuck pixels yet.
-
Norman did you get WSXGA+ or WUXGA?
-
-
what I know they don;t changed unless u got more than 5 dead pixel .
correct me if I am wrong , cos I happen to remb my local side the warrenty policy got stated. -
yes I know. but for example I never read a single thread at macbook forums about dead pixels. why? because apparently its never been an issue with that computer.
and the fact that every one gets his thinkpad and talks about dead pixels right away makes me wonder.. has there been an issue with the thinkpads specifically? -
are dead pixels very prominent? as in very easily spotted?
-
-
ps My LCD has no dead/stuck pixels -
I bought 2 T61 WSXGA+ systems 2 weeks ago, no stuck/dead pixels that I can find.
-
they are ususally stuck pixels but I have only read on a few people having a problem with them
-
No dead/stuck pixels on my WSXGA+ T61p built 19mar08.

And on a side note, for those of you who haven't seen this link, I love this program. It's called Dead Pixel Buddy and it makes finding a dead/stuck pixel very easy to spot.

no dead pixels on my recently purchased T61 with a march 2008 build date

My T61p doesn't have a single dead or stuck pixel.
I have zero tolerance when it comes to dead or stuck pixels. Not acceptable. -
There are various methods that may help fix a stuck pixel:

I had a stuck pixel on my T61P (built March 08)... tech support was rude and worthless. I was finally able to return it for a re-order (by going through my original salesperson) and am now waiting on the replacement system.
Lenovo has a good product (despite the pixel, that happens). Their policies and tech support just plain suck. This is suprising, as they supposedly cater to the business-oriented types who normally wouldn't put up with that.
I'll give Dell this much, their customer service was awesome. If I didn't like the T61's keyboard so much, I'd just stick with them.
