Happened to me multiple times already. The LCD would lose the backlight suddenly, when I tried to turn up brightness, it remained dark. But when I tried to turn down the brightness, the backlight came back to life again. Kind of scary and wierd, is that mean I got a defective unit?

I called Lenovo tech support and the only solution they have is to have the LCD replaced. To me it really looks like a driver/software issue. Doesn't have the same issue under Ubuntu Gutsy.

I installed the latest drivers from lenovo support website.
The current ver I have installed is 6.14.10.4860

So far I haven't see the issue come up.
