i just recently got a 9 cell lenovo battery from ebay. the original one i had was a 9 cell sanyo battery but this one is a panasonic. when i inserted the new battery into the laptop it felt SOO solid. the release slider and lock also felt much more solid when sliding it to lock. there was much less battery wobble then my original battery. i just wanted to know whether this was the same for other people with panasonic batteries.

usually it is only the cells that is different, but i guess lenovo could be using a couple of different supplier for the battery casing, and some fit at a higher tolerance?
I haven't really looked into the battery housing and how tightly it fits the laptop, but i do know that Panasonic battery are the best out of all the battery used in ThinkPads. Typically from my own battery tests, you would at least get 1.5 to 2 times more battery cycle for a Panasonic as compared to the Sanyo. -
Even with "wobble," I've never had any problems with my T500's 9-cell battery (Sanyo). It's certainly never fallen apart or accidentally come loose from my T500. My X120e has no battery wobble, though, and it's made by LG, for what it's worth.
But, Panasonic cells have proven to be longer-lasting than Sanyo cells. In general:
Panasonic > LG > Sanyo, when it comes to Thinkpad batteries. -
yeah i'm just saying that there was wobble in the sanyo one but it never fell off. i was never worried about it falling off either because it didn't seem like it would. but when i put in this new one, WOW it just snapped securely in place, it still moves but way less then my original battery. so if i were to buy another 9 cell battery in the future how can i make sure i get a panasonic or is it more of a lottery

Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
My Z61t's Sanyo batteries have the famous wobble. But my T60's 6 cell which was Panasonic had no wobble at all.
difference in quality for x201 batteries
