I just noticed the display properties on my 14.1" widescreen R61 (with integrated graphics, WinXP, T8100, 2GB) is set to 16-bit "medium" color quality rather than 32-bit "high" quality. It must have come this way from the factory, because I haven't changed it manually.

I was surprised to notice this as I certainly haven't felt the display was mediocre in any sense. So my question is, is there any performance penalty setting the display to 32-bit color? I have 2GB of RAM so the machine isn't starved for extra RAM, running WinXP.

Change it to 32-bit or leave it alone?

    TIA, ~john

won't be too big a performance hit if u step up. i'm sure you'll notice the difference quality wise if u do bump up, and i'm surprised u haven't noticed already.

32-bit color isn't going to hurt your performance.
